White Marble Nude Sculpture Modernist Design Life Size 3'H Original MCM African?
This is a large solid marble sculpture by Florida artist Melvin Paley. According to the heirs, it was done sometime in the 1990s and came from his personal estate. Depicting an Asian or African full figured woman nude. Great modernist design. Makes a statement in a garden or could be displayed indoors. The bright white marble calls attention to the piece.
I could not find any signature, but did take a few pictures of the underside that had some markings.
Condition: Appears to be one small repair to the nose. Some general grime and weathering, mainly to the base. Overall condition is good.
Statue is VERY heavy. I was able to move it with a hand truck and two people, but it was very difficult to get into the car. You would need to hire movers or be prepared to bring helpers if you were to pick it up.
