This is a rare and unusual tilt-top table. It is a Chinese export style with lacquered surface and parcel gilt decoration. The unique feature is the painted crest of the Clan MacInnes with the motto "E Labore Dulcedo." The table has an unusual "basket" below the tilt top, possibly for storage. Painted birds of paradise.
Table is out of a wealthy local estate where the furniture was purchased through a high end NYC decorator in the 1960s.
Condition: Overall very good. Normal amounts of wear from use. Minor chipping to the surface.
