Stunning antique Italian mirror coming directly from a wealthy Mendham, NJ estate where the family was buying period antiques abroad in the 1950s and 1960s.  I believe this mirror may be 17th century, or a high quality 19th century example.  The quality of the gilt detailing is remarkable.  The current patina makes it a unique designer accent piece.  The mirror plate does show flecks to the silver, a sign of the age that gives it character.  

Condition:  Losses to the gilt and gessoed surface.  Strong wear throughout from age.  Cracks to the wood.  Some losses to carved details.  Mirror plate shows wear, but may have been a replacement.
