A John Jelliff Burl Walnut Settee Sofa, Ansonia Head Arms , 19th Century
This settee is directly out of a NJ estate where it was passed down in the family. I believe this is a John Jelliff example, or made in the style of. Fine carved Ansonia heads with burl veneer work. Would look outstanding in a Victorian era home.
Condition: Can be used in its current state, however it is fragile. The back is a bit loose from years of use. Springs are still functional, but the webbing could use some adjustments to be perfect. One carved element missing to the left side (pictured). Minor veneer loss. Upholstery could be cleaned or used “as is.”
