A Fine Louis XVI Carved Giltwood Mirror, coming directly from a wealthy local estate. Ideal size for a powder room or above a small chest or table in an entry hall. Dates to the early 19th century. The gilt surface has an excellent patina with fantastic coloring. You will find other similar mirrors on the market, but few with proportions and a surface like this example.
Condition: Normal wear consistent with age. Minor wear to the mirror plate, which is probably an old replacement. Some chipping to the gessoed surface.
I would recommend having this piece shipped by the local UPS store due to the fragile nature of the piece.
