A Federal Card table in Mahogany and maple coming directly from the wealthy NJ estate of publisher and former antiques dealer.
The form suggests Boston, however the table is signed twice on the underside in graphite "G. Burell (or Burelle) / Portland." The script is difficult to read, so it could say something completely different. I have found several other similar card tables with Maine attributions. The Hepplewhite design is similar to those by John & Thomas Seymour who originally lived in Maine before moving to Boston.
Condition: Refinished, probably 30 years ago. I do not thing the refinish was very good. Table is sturdy. General wear to the finish from use. Swing leg is slightly loose, but stable.

29 1/2" H x 17 1/4" W x 36 3/4" L
