Well made 5’7″carved wood Indian Chief sculpture.  Recently purchased from a 3 million dollar ultra contemporary home in Montvale, NJ.  According to the owner, the statue was purchased for her late husband as a gift from their son who was a well known architect and the designer of the home.  The architect designed the interiors of the home, which was filled with the finest in contemporary furniture from the time it was built in the 1980s and this sculpture held a prominent place next to the front door.

I find no signature, but perhaps someone will recognize the carving.  I find this example more attractive than the majority on the market currently.

Carved from a solid piece of wood with applied feather on the back side.  Parcel gilt painted.

Condition:  Excellent.  Normal shrinkage cracks from age.  Has been in the same spot since the late 1980s.
