Rare 1877 George W Gates Antique Drafting Table Victorian Cherry Iron Adjustable

$899.00

Coming directly from a Short Hills, NJ estate is this rare Victorian drafting table made by the George W. Gates Mfg. Co. of Philadelphia, PA.  Made to the highest quality with cherry wood top and folding legs around an iron core stem.  Completely adjustable with spring loaded core.  Makes a unique side table.

Great patina with age.  Out of all the models Gates Mfg. made, this one was the most expensive with the carved legs and claw feet.

Condition:  Table has been oiled and cleaned to work well.  Legs hold the table with no problem, but they do sag a bit when locked around the center stem.  Table can hold a lamp, etc., but I wouldn't recommend putting a great deal of weight on the legs due to the age.  There is a break to the iron track on the underside of the table surface, but you would rarely move this portion as it would make it off balance.  There were originally drawers that are now missing.

Measurements:
27" H x 32" W x 24" D
