Offered is a rare 1970s plastic tub chair designed by Raphael Raffel (FRENCH, 1912-2000). Unmarked, but coming from a wealthy local estate that was professionally decorated in the 1970s by a NYC decorator. This example is all original and in overall good condition. Rare find. Very comfortable.
Condition: Sturdy and well made. The padding has shifted a bit over time and is low in some areas. This does not effect the comfort, but does make it appear a bit flat in places. General wear to the plastic shell, which has yellowed slightly over time. Normal amounts of scratches / scuffs. General wear to the plastic upholstery.
Similar chairs are on the market currently, but considerably more expensive.
